MTRPA and Bozeman Parks & Recreation is excited to announce our theme and logo for our conference this spring “Connecting the Bigger Sky.” This theme focuses on the changes in Montana and how parks and recreation professionals continue to bridge and innovate with the expansion experienced in our state. You are invited to contribute to this conference and attend in April!

The Montana Trails Recreation & Park Association Annual Conference will be held April 7 – 10, 2025 in Bozeman, MT with the theme “Connecting Under the Bigger Sky”.
What is the Montana Trail Recreation and Park Association?
The Montana Trail Recreation and Park Association (MTRPA) is a non-profit, public interest professional organization representing professionals involved in providing recreation opportunities, natural resource management and leisure facilities to all Montanans as well as the countless tourist who visit our state each year.

The conference committee is working hard on a session framework to address current topics and opportunities. The conference theme is “Connecting the Bigger Sky”, and sessions can expand on the changes and adaptability in the state of Montana related to that theme. We are seeking thought provoking speakers with professional, cutting edge, interactive education sessions, and presentations that can provide information and proven methods to successfully manage and maintain parks, trails, recreation programs, aquatics, and urban forests in the following tracks:
Access and Equity
Examples include: pickleball issues and solutions, certification opportunities, homelessness in parks, technology in the workplace.
Programs and Partnerships
Examples include: access to public art and art programming, parks and recreation partnerships, building active communities through public/private partnerships, wellness in the Parks and Recreation workplace.
Active Transportation
Examples include: bridging active transportation between streets and parks, trail planning and maintenance, wayfinding, greenways.
Natural Resources
Examples include: conservation through urban forestry management, water conservation and park maintenance standards, sustainability, riparian areas, green infrastructure.
Sessions Length Options:
1-hour full session
The 1-hour full session will be offered in rooms set up with round tables or theatre style seating.
30-minute session
The 30-minute sessions will be offered in rooms set up with theatre style seating. These sessions are especially good for demonstrations.
