Recreational Specialist Lewistown Park & Recreation

The wage for this position is $17.33.  This position is full time.  Would consider 20-40 hrs for the right individual.  Health insurance is available for employees working over 30 hrs per week.  Benefits include paid vacation and sick leave.

Duties include planning, directing and supervising park & recreation programs as well as maintenance of facilities and equipment.  This may include work within the civic center, parks, trails and swimming pool. 

This position will involve moderate to strenuous physical activity under possible adverse conditions.  Must be able to lift 50lbs, requires the employee to bend, stoop, climb, crawl, push, and pull.  Employee must have good finger dexterity for maintenance and repair as well as good close and distance vision.  Must perform a variety of janitorial and maintenance functions including but not limited to sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, mowing grass and shoveling snow.  Performs a variety of minor repair functions including but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical repair and operation of heating system according to policy.  Basic computer skills are needed. 

Public contact is considerable, and the use of good communication skills is necessary.  Employee will be promoting interest and providing information regarding recreation programs to the community.
