Park County Fairgrounds & Parks Department (PCFP), is looking to hire a permanent
Facilities & Maintenance Technician who’s looking for flexibility and interested in traditional maintenance tasks, supporting community events and groundskeeping.

General Schedule:

  • Part-time with more hours in summer and less in winter (0.65 – 0.70 FTE) Permanent Non-Exempt 
  • Peak Season (May – Mid October): 35-40 hours per week
    Off-Peak Season (Mid-October – April): 22 – 26 hours per week with increased flexibility if employee maintains supplemental employment during the off season. 
  • While the schedule is typically consistent (to be determined with candidate), it does require some flexibility to meet customer needs during peak seasons. 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Interact with community members, seasonal staff, event organizers, and members of the public.
  • Prioritize and manages tasks across various locations and facilities.
  • Provide services for maintenance & functions for the Fairgrounds, Arch Park, Confluence Park, Green Acres Park, Silvergate Park and county trails.
  • Complete minor repairs such as electrical, mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, and other general daily maintenance.
  • Prepare buildings and grounds for events and/or functions, including tent set up, stall turnover, cleaning and moving equipment prior to and after events.
  • Responsible for security and inspections of fairgrounds grounds and buildings.
  • Operate, monitor and perform basic tasks on equipment and vehicles (Skidsteer, tractor, golf cart, UTV, lawn equipment)
  • Maintain inventory lists & maintenance schedules.
  • Create and maintain project budgets, cost estimates & schedules for special
    maintenance & grounds projects in coordination with Fairgrounds & Parks Director.

Requirements Include:

  • Valid Montana Driver’s License

Benefits:

  • Hourly wage of $21.60 – $26.70 / hour
  • Paid annual and sick leave, earned on a prorated basis. Health insurance
    contribution based on FTE. Optional membership through the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) with a 9.07% employer match.
